Keepsakes from our loved ones who have crossed over

This post as nothing to do with signs from our loved ones. But it does deal with what I think many of us have had to deal with since the loss of our loved ones. I for one had to deal with this issue. That is, keeping something from a loved ones who has crossed over.

I have received emails, read books and talked with others about how they feel about keeping an item which belonged to their loved one, anything from jewelry, clothing, tools, a collection of some kind, photographs and countless other items. There is nothing wrong with keeping items from a loved one who has crossed over, it’s a choice for each individuals to make, there is no right or wrong unless it keeps you from moving forward or holding you to the past.

The main point to this post is for those who have kept some item’s from their loved ones and worry that if they lose, give away or sell the item’s that they have kept, that their loved one who has crossed over will be upset or angry with them.

NOT SO: Our loved ones: who have crossed over, have nothing but pure love for us. They do not care one way or the other what we do with the material things that we have kept of theirs. That is only for us, for our own comfort and connection with our loved one. Our loved ones only care about LOVE, about us moving forward with our lives, living our lives to the fullest, being happy, having fun and doing the best that we can.

There is nothing wrong with having item’s from our loved ones who have crossed over and enjoying the comfort and memories they bring us. We just can’t let the item’s hold us back or hold us to the past or worry if our loved ones who have crossed over think that they may be upset with us about such things. Love is all they all for us.

I for one have a bracelet and necklace which belonged to our son Billy who crossed over on June 26 2004. I no longer wear them, but I have kept them, and I hope to give them to a very special person in the near future. I don’t worry about Billy being upset or angry if I chose to give them away or loosing them,.

Anyway, for anyone who may be worried about giving away, selling or loosing item’s from your loved one who has crossed over: Don’t worry, it no longer matters to our loved ones one way or the other. LOVE is the only thing that matter to our loved ones. Remember they want us to live our lives to the fullest, be happy and do the best that we can while we are here. LOVE is everything nothing else matters.

Our Christmas sign’s video

Many of you may know that since the loss of our son Billy in June of 2004, that we have and continue to receive many different type’s of signs from our son Billy in heaven, of which many of them have been written about in past entries on our blog.

Because of the holiday’s coming upon us I have decide to show you a collection of spirit photographs which have been taken over the past 6 years at Christmas time. Our collection of spirit sign’s from our son Billy during the holiday’s are in the form of streaking lights and heart-shape images of our Christmas tree lights.

My dragonfly Sign

My wife and I have a friend, Brenda who we have known for 40 years or so crossed over to heaven back in July of 2011 and one of Brenda’s favorite things are dragonflies. At Brenda’s graveside service we released dragonfly balloons which we watch float away.

This past weekend a few of us went to the Windsor Fair where I had two dragonfly’s land on me, one on my t-shirt and another on the back of my hand. The dragonfly which landed on my hand stayed there for a little bit, we all said it was Brenda paying us a visit then it flew away.

The following day we went to see our niece cheerleading for the Maine Black Bears football team. While we were enjoying the game and our niece cheerleading I had another dragonfly land on my hand for a moment and then fly away. I guess Brenda wanted us to know that she was with us at the game to. By the way Maine won 28 – 13 over Bryant college and our niece did a great job cheerleading.

Our loved ones give us my different signs to let us know that they are still close by, just keep and open mind and heart.

Receiving Signs From Our Loved Ones

I receive emails about the different types of signs from our son Billy and from others about receiving signs from their loved ones. Although I have been sharing our photography signs from our son Billy, because it is a type of sign from our son Billy, that I am able to share with everyone because they can be seen. Instead of telling a story with words, a photograph can be a story in it’s self.

I would like to share a few of some of the other type of signs which we and others who have connected with us about their signs from their loved ones.

1. Dreams – Our loved ones can and do connect with us through our dreams. I have had dreams about our son Billy which have helped me move forward and with the work of our website. We also had someone who has suffered the loss of a child some years earlier, tell us about a dream that he received, about that we got together to talk about our losses, which happened. He told us about the dream after we gotten together.

2. Lights – Lights flickering on and off. We have motion sensor lights which our son Billy will blink on and off to get our attention.

3. Smell – Sometimes while thinking about our loved one, we may receive a very familiar smell which is connected with our loved one.

4. Pennies – You may keep coming across a coin. You can always check the coins date, it may have something of importance from your loved one, like the date of their birth, passing or anniversary.

5. Feathers – Coming across a feather while your thinking about them

6. Butterflies – Dragonflies - Again, coming across a butterfly or dragonfly while you thinking about them

7. Seeing our loved ones – On occasion, our loved ones can and do appear to us. A number of our family have had a visit from our son Billy, myself included.

8. A song – While thinking about your loved one, their favorite song or a song that reminds you of them starts to play.

9. Feeling a touch – Feeling that someone has just touch you and nobody’s around

10. Electronics - For us Billy has connected with us from time to time through electronics. Billy would make the cursor or arrow on the computer screen move across the screen in all directions. On our Xbox video game, Billy would at times take control of the opposing football team, which was fun to watch. The door bell ringing once and no one is around, the phone ringing only once. With my cameras, while taking photographs, the pictures would come out sideways or upside down.

11. Repetitive signs – Any of the above any in many other type of signs. It may be the way that they are trying to connect with you.

Photo’s are our favorite way of receiving sign from Billy at this time, of which the Heart-Shaped images of the moon street lights, Christmas tree and other lights are our favorite. We also received Heart-Shaped images in clouds and on a job site while looking down between my feet I found a heart-shaped stone which I keep on my desk. For us hearts are a way of connecting with our son Billy.

Of course, this is only a small sample of some of the ways that our loved ones who have crossed over to heaven are connecting with us. There are many other ways that our loved ones can and do connect with us, I believe they try to find a way to connect with us in a way that we feel comfortable with and can understand.

Heart – Shaped Lights

I would like to share this heart – shaped image of lights which I took yesterday June 22, 2011. A couple of days ago I installed some inexpensive christmas tree lights onto our garage and onto one of our trees. I went outside to take a few photographs last night and this is one of three heart – shaped images which we continue to received from our son Billy in heaven. You can zoom onto the photograph for better viewing. You’ll may also notice many orbs around the heart-shaped lights.

7 Year Anniversary Of The Loss Of Our Son Billy

June 26 2011 will make 7 years since the loss of our son Billy, who crossed over to heaven after an accident while riding ATV at night. I just wanted to leave a short message for anyone else who has suffered a loss and wonders what it’s like 7 years after a loss. I can only speak for myself of what I felt then and feel 7 years later.

To get a better feel of what I felt in the beginning we have a website www.oursonbilly.com which everyone can visit and read our story. What I can tell you that it was the most heartbreaking, mind numbing, life draining, you could say a living hell that any parent could ever experience. Going through grief is different for everyone, we have received many emails from all over and they have shared their experience with us and most are pretty much the same, a few have dealt with their grief in a different way, which is what I have mentioned earlier, is that people grieve in their own way and length of time.

For me things began to change when my wife mentioned an idea from a friend of hers, who had also suffered the loss of a child, which was to visit a spirit medium, which we did. Visiting a medium named Vicki Monroe help make a difference in moving forward with my life and hearing from our son Billy ( through ) Vicki Monroe, is that our loved ones want us to start moving forward as soon as possible, living our lives to the fullest. It’s ok to grieve, but there comes a time ( it’s different for everyone ) that we must start living our lives again, that’s what our loved ones want us to do. because when it’s our time to cross over to heaven, we will be together again.

After our meeting with Vicki Monroe, I would say about 2 to 3 months later, I learned that one of the ways that our loved ones can and do connect with us are through photographs. I started to take pictures at random outside and inside of our home to see if we could receive any signs from our son Billy in that way. We were able to and continue to receive many signs from our son Billy that he is still with us, but in his true form ( spirit ). Our favorite sign from Billy are the heart-shaped images of the moon and lights of which we have 100′s of them. As the years have passed by life does get better, one day at a time, things do start to get back into a ( normal as it can be ) life. We never forget what it was like losing a child and we talk about Billy from time to time, of course I work with Billy’s website, book, articles take photographs and answer emails from people from all over. We enjoy life, we are very happy, do the best we can and try to help others. For anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, I can tell you from my experience and with the many emails that we have received from others that life will get better for you. It may not seem like it right now, but in time it will, one day at a time and that is what our loved ones in heaven want, they want us to be happy, enjoy life to the fullest. Remember, our loved ones who have crossed over want with all their heart for us to start living our lives again, be happy, to move forward, we have to do our part and our loved ones in heaven can also help us along our life journey, but we have to want to start living again.
